Balblair is an understated and historic Highland distillery situated in the picturesque village of Edderton, celebrated for its vintage-focused heritage and its exceptionally elegant spirit.
History
The distillery was established in 1790 by John Ross and stands as one of the oldest working distilleries in the country, having been rebuilt in 1894 to better utilize the pristine water source from the nearby Ault Dearg burn.
Signature Whisky
The Balblair 12 Year Old is the entry point to the core range, matured in American oak ex-bourbon and double-fired American oak casks to showcase the distillery’s hallmark fruity character.
Tasting Notes
The nose offers elegant aromas of bright lemon peel, creamy vanilla, and crisp green apples, while the palate is rounded with layers of honeyed sweetness and intensive zesty fruits before a long, creamy finish.
