Blair Athol is a historic Highland distillery located at the gateway to the Scottish Highlands in Pitlochry, famous for its ivy-covered stone buildings and its contribution to the Bell’s blended Scotch whisky.
History
Established in 1798 as Aldour, the distillery is one of the oldest in Scotland and draws its water from the Allt Dour burn, which flows from the slopes of Ben Vrackie to provide a consistently high-quality source for production.
Signature Whisky
The Blair Athol 12 Year Old is the cornerstone of the distillery’s limited single malt offerings, cherished for its robust, nutty character and its deep mahogany color derived from traditional maturation.
Tasting Notes
The nose is rich and earthy with aromas of dried fruits and Christmas cake, while the palate is full-bodied with flavors of malted nuts, dark chocolate, and a hint of spice that leads into a long, satisfying finish.
