Balvenie is a unique Speyside distillery that prides itself on being the only one in Scotland to still maintain the five rare crafts of whisky production entirely on-site.
History
Established in 1892 by William Grant near Balvenie Castle, the distillery has spent over a century perfecting traditional techniques, including the pioneering development of the cask finishing process in the 1980s.
Signature Whisky
The Balvenie DoubleWood 12 Year Old is a landmark expression that gains its distinctive character from being matured in two different wood types, specifically traditional oak and Oloroso sherry casks.
Tasting Notes
The nose presents sweet fruit and honeyed depths with hints of vanilla, while the palate is smooth and mellow with nutty sweetness and cinnamon spiciness that leads into a long, warming finish.
