Deanston is a unique Highland distillery housed in a monumental 18th-century former cotton mill that generates its own electricity from the River Teith.
History
The site was converted from a mill into a distillery in 1966, repurposing the massive stone buildings and cool weaving sheds into ideal maturation warehouses that maintain a remarkably steady temperature.
Signature Whisky
The Deanston 12 Year Old is the quintessential expression of the distillery, produced without chill-filtration to preserve the natural oils and the waxy mouthfeel that defines the brand’s character.
Tasting Notes
The nose is fresh and cereal-forward with notes of creamy milk chocolate and honey, while the palate is exceptionally soft and waxy with flavors of zesty orange, barley sugar, and a gentle tingle of ginger on the finish.
